Position Summary
As a member of the Office of Medical Education and Evaluation, the person who holds this position serves as a support member for Examinations, Computer-Based Testing (CBT) center, and Evaluation Programs within the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford campus. In this role, the position is responsible for a broad array of activities relevant to examinations administered to students. The testing specialist will be part of a college-wide testing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures reliable and secure administration of constructed exams from Benware to students at the Rockford campus of UICOM including assigning passwords and scheduling of exams on campus.
Provides a secure environment for review of student exams in the Phase 1 curriculum.
Maintains accuracy of student performance data.
Communicates with the Assistant Dean, faculty, and students regarding upcoming examinations (content, format, etc.).
Provides support to students requiring ADA testing accommodations for approved examinees including identifying appropriate testing spaces and times.
Provides support for all Team Based Learning (TBL) activities (including in-class support). _x000d_ Supports use of web-based TBL software by faculty and students, including providing software training and troubleshooting problems.
Trains, schedules, and prepares payroll for outside proctors.
Creates and maintains a procedural manual related to the above duties.
Acts as the Computer-Based Testing Center (CBT) Administrator (USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3, Board Examinations for Pharmacy students, and Board Re-certification for Physicians) which involves establishing test schedules between departments and scheduling exams for the students. Manages troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostics of exams.
Provides appropriate data on the educational program to the Assistant Dean for submission to the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the American Association of Medical Colleges, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Assists in conducting portions of an orientation for medical education program participants.
Serves as a contact for students and faculty concerning the medical education program.
