The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus is seeking a Rehabilitation Therapy Aide who under the supervision of a therapist will perform designated tasks related to the services provided by the Department of Rehab Therapies. This position will be assigned to the inpatient orthopedic units and the outpatient clinic.
Position Responsibilities :
- Under the direction of a physical therapist, perform select exercises with patients who are recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries.
- Gather and prepare equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc.) for the therapy session.
- Assist the therapist by moving equipment (IV poles, wheelchairs, etc.) while the therapist mobilizes the patient.
- A ssist the therapist in mobilizing patients.
- Help restock linens.
- Prepares, maintains, and cleans treatment areas.
- P erforms other tasks as assigned.
The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care's nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services.
