The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences. The division is comprised of 24 faculty across a variety of disciplines, including pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, developmental psychology, developmental medicine, occupational therapy, and school psychology. We are active in research, teaching, clinical service, professional service and leadership in the department and across the medical center as well as in our professions at a national level.
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.

Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Procure external federal funding to support an independent line of research focused on child health.
- Publish peer reviewed publications and complete other activities necessary for promotion and tenure.
- Serve as a clinician in a child and family focused clinic.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD, PsyD in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology with an emphasis in the care of children and families.
- Completed APA accredited internship and a research oriented postdoctoral fellowship. Mid-career applicants should have demonstrated clear programmatic line of research in health psychology/behavioral medicine.
- Successful applicants should have passed or be in preparation to take the National Psychology Licensing Exam (EPPP) and be license eligible for the state of Kansas.
Work Experience:
- Present funding or a strong potential for external grant funding. History of teaching experience in a medical setting and clinical experience are also welcome.
