Key Roles and Responsibilities
Research Overview : Work with faculty mentors to design and prioritize research projects.
Conduct research developing novel Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) immune cells against Glioblastoma and other aggressive solid tumors.
Oversee multiple projects that encompass in vitro optimization of CAR constructs such as lentivirus production, multiple-panel flow cytometry, and in vivo evaluation of CAR constructs.
Proficiency in FlowJo software required.
Proficiency in Incucyte, Celigo instruments is preferred.
Perform other duties assigned by the faculty mentors.
Postdoc Expectations : The Postdoc will be expected to complete research projects under the guidance of the faculty mentor, record and interpret the results of their experiments in an (electronic) laboratory notebook, prepare publication-quality manuscripts (including figures and tables) and publish in peer-reviewed literature.
Read literature articles, develop new ideas, and assimilate the information into his / her project design / interpretation.
Dissemination of studies : Interact on a regular basis with their faculty mentor and members of the laboratory to discuss experimental design and interpretation of results.
Present research aims and findings at department seminars and at scientific meetings. Write and publish their results as first author in abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.

Required Qualifications :
Education :
PhD in Cancer Biology or Immunology.
Work Experience :
At least 4-5 year of lab training in the field of regenerative medicine or immunology or cancer biology or radiation biology, which included running experiments, synthesizing data and writing manuscripts.
Preferred Qualifications :
Work Experience :
Previous experience in flow cytometry, cell culture, animal modeling.

Compensation Statement :
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
