Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Shift Full time 40 hours per week (day shift) Job Summary Administrative Staff Assistant for UK Ag Equine Programs
The successful candidate will be expected to provide administrative and logistical support for faculty, staff, students, and various academic initiatives affiliated with UK Ag Equine Programs () and the Equine Science and Management undergraduate major ().
Undergraduate Program Support (70%) :
Support student focused programs including internships, career mentorships, and various student-centered activities. Tasks will include coordinating logistics for student-faculty meetings, entering and retrieving information from databases, logistical support for experiential learning courses, and helping to implement various student-centered events.
Office and Event Management Support (15%) :
General office and event management support will include assistance with event planning and executing meetings and various activities sponsored by UK Ag Equine Programs. Tasks will include assistance with efforts to provide information to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public. Daily physical on-campus presence will be expected during regular business hours to provide program reception support.
Communications Support (15%) :
Assist with various communication tasks including in-person, written, email, website, and social media components. Help to manage and organize communication resources and activities. Provide logistical support for communication efforts related to the many internal and external events that UK Ag Equine Programs participates in either a leadership or supporting role.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Good communication skills for this role are imperative. Ability to work well with others and provide a positive work environment, as well as a friendly face for those entering the office. Desire to work as a team when needed but also can work independently with little oversight to complete a task. Good computer skills-proficient in basic software.
