Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, Office for Student Success is currently seeking a STEPS Payroll Specialist to assist with human resources and payroll support. Primary job responsibilities will include: creating hiring proposals and on boarding new employees; off-boarding staff and students; processing payroll actions; reviewing and maintaining payroll data; creating and reviewing reports associated with employee compensation; and coordinating with various University entities to ensure payroll requests are processed in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate for this position will be a team player, but must also work well independently to provide exceptional customer service to support our students and staff.
Position will primarily work normal business hours 8 a.m-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and is eligible to be considered for a hybrid work schedule.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Prefer familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer previous experience in human resources or payroll and/or knowledge of UK business regulations and policies.
