What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Chemistry position at University of Louisiana Monroe?
The Chemistry Program within the School of Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) is seeking an innovative Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses beginning in Spring 2025 or Fall 2025. This position is a one-year appointment. The School of Sciences offers a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
- Teach undergraduate courses during the fall and spring semester.
- Advise students and maintain records of student progress.
- Actively participate in recruitment and retention for the Chemistry degree program.
- Assist in all areas of program improvement, including participation in curriculum development, evaluation, and assessment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Candidates must be passionate about teaching undergraduates. Candidates should have a earned a MS or PhD in Chemistry. Qualifications include:
- Innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching undergraduates from diverse backgrounds
- Coursework and/or experience in Chemistry or related field
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Salary : $55,000 - $61,000
