Facilities Maintenance Worker- CL1 (Monday-Saturday, 10:00pm-6:30am)

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a full-time, regular, Facilities Maintenance Worker- CL1 (Custodian) to begin immediately.

Work Schedule: Monday through Saturday, 10:00 pm- 6:30 am (third shift).

Wage: $16.79 per hour plus shift differential, or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the Service & Maintenance collective bargaining agreement.

Essential duties of the Facilities Maintenance Worker include routine and non-routine cleaning services such as, but not limited to:

• Operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals and materials.
• Performs (sometimes heavy) lifting in the removal of trash, moving furniture and equipment.
• Shovels snow from building entrances and walkways.
• May pick up debris within several feet of the building.
• Cleans fixtures, furnishings, and facilities in and around campus buildings.
• Works alone or in groups.
• Occasionally climbs ladders up to 12 feet to perform necessary work.
• Adheres to safety procedures, including reporting mechanical and/or safety issues.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
• Valid Driver’s License and be an authorized and approved University Driver based on the Driver Administration Policy.

Preferred:

• Related cleaning experience
Experience using commercial cleaning equipment is a plus.
