Qualifications:
Required:

  • Typically has the education associated with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior position in performing arts programming or artist management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An expansive network of artist managers in relevant genres.
  • Wide knowledge of dance, jazz, classical, world music, theater, and special presentations.
  • Familiarity with current trends in the performing arts and experience working with artists and performers.
  • An understanding of how artists tour work and are routed.
  • An understanding of how travel and lodging needs can affect an offer and contract.
  • An ongoing commitment to see new work in the genres presented by the CCA.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with performance contracts, including details related to visas and taxes on foreign artists, Force Majeure, exclusivity, and other relevant clauses.
  • Proven ability to program a well-balanced and diverse season of performances.
  • A vision of how engagement can support a deeper artistic experience for patrons and the campus community.
  • A working understanding of technical riders and venue physical capabilities.
  • A working knowledge of marketing, engagement, and box office procedures.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred :

  • Experience working in a university or non-profit arts organization
