What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer-Editor- Emergency Medicine- Part-Time- 24 hours per week- Hybrid Opportunity position at University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc?
Under limited supervision, the technical editor/writer edits clinical, scientific, and marketing materials; grant proposals; and related technical documents. Creates and presents technical writing and medical publishing workshops for attending and house staff physicians in the department and on campus as requested. Provides preliminary data analysis for illustrative materials for publication and presentations. Writes or edits brochures, PowerPoint presentations, newsletter articles, and department reports; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related discipline from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in writing/editing medical or other technical material
- Certification by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) is highly desirable

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
