Towson Sports Medicine / University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Athletic Trainer to oversee the health safety and performance of student athletes at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland. The Head Athletic Trainer will oversee the sports medicine program, provide comprehensive services to student athletes, follow institutional polices and best practices in athletic health care. The Head Athletic Trainer will supervise an Assistant Athletic Trainer and work closely with Sports Medicine Physicians and other health care providers. This is a 12 month non-exempt full-time position.

General Summary
Deliver athletic training services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of athletic training.
II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
Performs advanced, direct athletic training services to patients in accordance with generally accepted Athletic Training standards, State of Maryland Athletic Training Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures. Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
Manage interviewing, orienting, training and supervising athletic training staff as designated by manager. Contributes to and / or completes performance evaluations and handles corrective actions. Supports an open and goal-oriented work environment with established clear and concise work procedures and productivity standards. Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and advancement activities.
Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for program development, performance improvement and strategic organizational initiatives.
Assists leadership in the identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues in order to assure high quality care, and efficient departmental operations. Facilitates a positive culture.
Ensures interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and delivers excellent customer service.
