Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategic Outreach & Engagement, and an integral part of a dynamic team, the OEI Engagement Coordinator coordinates all programs and initiatives under the engagement branch of the Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI). This position handles all aspects of planning and logistics for high-profile OEI events, programs, and initiatives in the interest of enhancing the university's responsiveness to inclusion needs on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage planning and coordination of events, programs, and engagement initiatives led by the Office of Equity & Inclusion.
- Support the Assistant Vice Chancellor through project management efforts, contributing to the advancement of special initiatives and collaborative projects, as well as oversight and support of Graduate Assistant tasks and objectives.
- Oversee the grant application process for all OEI grant initiatives, including Engagement Fund Grants, Campus Climate Improvement Grants, and Advancing Community Democracy and Dialogue Grants.
- Contribute to the implementation of innovative co-curricular programs and initiatives to sustain and/or increase engagement and community building for the UMass community.
- Gather information and provide appropriately synthesized information and reports.
- Communicate with cross-campus parties, developing and monitoring plans.
- Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external campus partners.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of current trends and participate in related training to stay abreast of new developments in the field and apply new knowledge as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in project or event management.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to independently prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience serving a large, culturally diverse population.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice.
