What you'll be doing in this role:
- The Talent Acquisition Specialist at UMCU is responsible for overseeing all recruiting programs, sourcing talented candidates, building University and community relationships and developing our overall employer brand.
- Builds candidate sourcing in a variety of disciplines including LinkedIn, Indeed, college recruiting, recruitment agencies, government agencies, job sites, ATS maintenance, etc.
- Ensures presence at selected college campuses through partnerships with schools, professors, and career guidance teams.
- Recruits for all open positions including candidate sourcing, resume reviewing, pre-screening and makes interviewing and hiring recommendations to leadership.
- Partners with the Brand Team at UMCU to develop and display our employer brand along social media platforms and website.
- Meets with hiring manager to conduct recruitment assessment to determine needs, timing, set expectations and strategies.
- Prepares and presents all job offers to candidates.
- Manages the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including the background check process and candidate assessments.
- Creates selection guides for all positions to include behavior based questions focusing on the positions desired competencies.
- Supports and helps develop the selection training process with newly hired or promoted managers.
- Ensures all candidates and new hires have a highly welcoming, positive and engaging experience.
- Recommends and prepares reports and analytics on recruiting functions.
- Assists with creating and executing high energy, moral and culture building team events.
- Collaborates with Talent Team on development and execution of high caliber engagement activities, team member events, trainings and all-team meetings.
What you'll need for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Plenty of initiative and the desire to maintain a well rounded and dynamic recruiting program.
- Minimum of 3 years previous recruiting experience including sourcing candidates and building pipelines, interviewing, and assessing candidates for roles at a variety of levels and making hiring recommendations.
- Experiencing sourcing passive candidates through LinkedIn and other recruiting platforms.
- Excellent follow-up skills ensuring the candidate and hiring manager have a positive experience.
- Strong and highly professional verbal and written communication skills with all team members and leadership.
- The desire to also learn new skills within Human Resources, provide backup and collaboration with the entire Talent Team (Learning/Training, HR Generalist and Coordinators).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills.
