Responsibilities*
Your main role will be to be responsible for project administrative support for an externally-funded research project in the area of high temperature electronics. You will report directly to the PI, Prof. Becky Peterson. You will work alongside her, the research staff including a post-doctoral research fellow and graduate students, and a part-time administrative assistant assigned to the project. Specific duties and responsibilities of the position are listed below:
- Support the PI in grants management and administration, including budget monitoring and preparing re-budgeting requests, just in time activities, award set ups, updating statements of work, FSRs, approving JEs, maintaining accounts receivables through a multistep process, as well as producing other required documentation. Work with research administration staff to ensure compliance with federal, state and university guidelines, including adherence to contractual obligations, publication restrictions, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, and Export Control Plans.
- Prepare, produce, edit, and submit sponsor reports including scientific technical reports, agendas and presentations for meetings, and milestone documentation. Create, maintain and distribute report and presentation templates and collect information from internal and external project team members needed to complete reports and presentations.
- Plan and manage project team activities by developing project plans, organizing proposal reviews, setting meeting agendas, developing action item lists, document preparation, and developing similar work products. Ensure issues, concerns, requirements, and priorities of each party are successfully transmitted to all parties and that project planning reflects sponsor needs. Ensure adherence to contractual deliverables and deadlines, following up as needed.
- Supervise and work with a part-time administrative assistant to ensure their responsibilities are executed timely and properly.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, milestones, provide briefings and oral presentations to key stakeholders with the other performers including companies and Government entities, with the sponsors, and with US Government representatives. As needed, support and represent the project team at in-person visits to internal and external project team members, project sponsors and US Government representatives at workshops, conferences, annual meetings and the like, and assist with technical interchanges at these events.

Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project management experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Understanding of engineering and technical terms at a level to produce technical and progress reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Calendar
- Proficiency with M-Reports, Business Objects and other university enterprise systems, or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate within a large team and with external stakeholders
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines U.S. citizenship is required
Desired Qualifications*
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering
- Experience serving in a managerial role and/or research management role in a scientific or technical context.
- Technical presentation, proposal development, and technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with the current landscape of semiconductor technology
- Experience with Non-Disclosure Agreements, Materials Transfer Agreements, and Export Control Plans

Modes of Work
This position may be eligible for a remote work schedule. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Additional Information
This is a term-limited position through February 2026 with the possibility of renewal based on funding extension. A higher salary may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
