Job Summary
As a member of the External Relations team, the Marketing Communications Coordinator will carry out marketing and communications related duties focused on advancing the mission, awareness, reputation and program offerings of the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Working under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy, with high collaboration with the Director of Communications, the Coordinator will support the development, coordination and execution of impactful communications and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities*
- Utilize project management tools to manage complex projects.
- Manage the production of campus collateral as required by individual departments, including, admissions brochures, individual school/college brochures and publications, event brochures, collateral related to specific campaign materials and web projects.
- Work with designated vendors and resources to obtain project quotes and produce materials cost effectively, on time and with the appropriate approvals.
- Assist in ensuring proper brand and logo usage on all campus literature, publications and collateral. Maintain Identity Standards and Branding Guidelines on the website.
- Assist in the management of the university digital asset management system.
- Support internal and external publications and social media, including formatting and sending the faculty/staff enews and serving as social media backup when the Digital Media Manager is out of the office.
- Manage content on the Office of External Relations website and other key pages.
- Provide assistance on other campus communications and marketing initiatives including: photo/video shoots and campus events.
- Manage annual updates of university key Facts & Figures and Ranking information
- Support the efforts of the Communications and Marketing teams through brainstorming sessions and pitch meetings to generate additional content ideas for social media and university publications.
- Additional duties as assigned
- A bachelor?s degree is required, along with at least one year of progressively responsible marketing experience. Applicants with degrees in marketing or communications are likely to be a strong fit for this role, but applicants with other majors and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- A strong understanding of project management principles, marketing concepts and best practices in marketing, communications and print/digital production.
- Proficient in social media channels, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be professional, service oriented, creative, self-motivated, highly organized, team player.
- Ability to work independently with little direction and multi-task while being productive and timely.
- Must be able to write clear and effective communications to university faculty/staff and partners. Must be able to write copy for small projects including websites, brochures, etc.
