Job Summary
A full-time Research Laboratory Technician Senior position is available in the Howard lab in the Ecology and Evolutionary department at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Our lab studies the ecology and evolution of plants' interactions with microorganisms and arthropods, and how microorganisms affect the host plants' acclimation to stresses such as drought.

Responsibilities*
- Setting up and maintaining experiments in greenhouse, field, and/or laboratory environments in hot conditions (40%)
- Data collection and management (20%)
- Processing plant, soil, microbe, and arthropod samples (20%)
- Supervising, training, and mentoring undergraduate research students (15%)
- Laboratory management (e.g., ordering supplies, monthly lab safety inspections) (5%)
- Bachelor's in biology or related field
- 1-2 years experience conducting research in a lab or field environment
- Will need their own transportation to Matthaei Botanic Garden, which is a ~6 mile drive from the Biological Sciences Building (and not easily accessible via public transit).
- Experience working with plants preferred
