About the Job :
The Director of the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE) reports to the Associate Vice President for Institution Engagement and Education Justice of the Office for Equity and Diversity (OED). The Director oversees the development of strategic partnerships that support campus-wide initiatives for multicultural students with intersectional identities. This role leads the visioning, strategic planning, and programmatic agenda for MCAE.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide vision, direction, and support for MCAE.
- Establish strategic plans for MCAE in consultation with OED senior leaders.
- Develop a detailed budget to support MCAE strategic initiatives.
- Create and sustain institutional, system, and community relationships to enhance multicultural student support initiatives.
- Develop and implement programs for multicultural students to improve retention and graduation rates.
- Implement holistic support frameworks for multicultural students' academic goals.
- Partner with OED and Foundation colleagues for philanthropic efforts.
- Prepare briefs and reports for senior leaders highlighting MCAE's efforts.
- Design and implement an evaluation and assessment plan for MCAE programming.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of MCAE staff; provide supervision and evaluation.
- Assist in the recruitment and implementation of office interns and peer mentors.
- Represent MCAE to multicultural students' interests and attend related events.
- Provide ongoing support and direction for existing and developing programs.
- Establish best practices to support multicultural students in the classroom.
- Develop a strategic marketing and outreach plan for MCAE services.
- Serve on University committees and as a member of the Leadership Team in OED.
- Engage in work consistent with OED's mission to support a pluralistic community.
- Coordinate the instruction of LEAD 1691W Personal Leadership.
- Maintain administrative systems and create procedures for operations.
- Manage access to internal information for staff and interns.
- Serve as the Department Facilities Representative.

Pay and Benefits :
Pay Range : $87,000-$97,000; depending on education / qualifications / experience.
