Job Description

The Trulaske College of Business Master's Programs Office (MPO) seeks an experienced Senior Academic Advisor to support master's students and provide program services to master's business students and faculty. This position will be responsible for the following:

* Advise incoming and continuing master's students on all aspects of MBA or MS degree programs. This includes registration and enrollment, policies and procedures, degree requirements, petitioning for exceptions, administrative issues, personal issues affecting studies, departmental and campus programs, and graduation.

* Manage all accelerated master's student registration, advising and programing including special welcome event for accelerated students. Maintain working knowledge of undergraduate degree requirements and collaborate with undergraduate advisors to ensure smooth transition into accelerated program.

* Manage all graduate certificates within the college and partner certificates regarding certificate maintenance, recruitment of new certificates, course development, course changes, and collaboration with all advising departments.

* Analyze existing department academic policies, programs, and procedures as they relate to Trulaske College of Business master's students. Work with staff, faculty, and graduate student leaders to revise and update as appropriate.

* Manage graduation procedures by tracking the status of all master's degrees and completion timeframe.

* Provide student data and statistics about the master's student population and academic progress.

* Enhance and maintain effective communications and relationships within the Trulaske College of Business, MU and college professional organizations.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., occasional nights and weekends (2-3 times per semester).

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

* Possesses expanded conceptual knowledge of the Student Support function and broadens capabilities in graduate student advising; business and curriculum processes; student engagement activities, practices and principles.
* Demonstrates knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to international students
* Experience in understanding customer service perspective and needs.
* Experience in planning student activities.
* Experience in creating student activity reports.
* Experience in working in a higher education setting with diverse populations and cultures.
* Experience in using Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
* Experience in CRM systems such as MyZou and PeopleSoft
* Evidence of effective verbal and written communications, including grammar and spelling.
* Experience in composing, editing and proofreading written and electronic materials.
* Experience in meeting tight deadlines.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $44,262 - $57,000 a year

Grade: GGS 09
