Job Description
The President of the University of Missouri seeks an experienced and capable administrative expert to provide essential duties for the President and broader office. Duties related to this role are outlined below.
- Serve as trusted advisor to the President and, in partnership with the Chief of Staff, effectively manage the priorities of the President’s Office.
- Manage administrative staff of the office; ensure highest levels of customer/guest service and task completion; work with Chief of Staff to align team contributions to most pressing and important matters on a daily basis.
- Serve as the point of contact for legislative and congressional offices; align presidential activities with Office of Government Relations and key elected officials.
- Coordinate key presidential activities with the Secretary of the Board of Curators and other key administrative experts across the university.
- Oversee university and office of the president sponsored events to ensure alignment with objectives and needs while ensuring optimal experiences to enhance the institution's reputation.
- Effectively manage outlook calendar scheduling including plan and schedule meetings and teleconferences. Resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise and prioritize issues to ensure an effective time management approach. Communicate agendas and respond to calendar changes as needed. Maintain contact lists in Outlook and databases as needed.
- Convene and coordinate agenda for Council of Chancellors meetings.
- Ensure meetings are properly organized; prepare participants by setting the appropriate agenda. Capture key take-aways and follow-up actions to be distributed to attendees. Prepare meeting materials, consolidating input from executive team into a cohesive presentation.
- Manage all aspects of travel arrangements in a timely manner. Coordinate flight, hotel, car, etc., and prepare detailed itineraries. Prepare travel and expense reports and coordinate reimbursements.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure that all correspondence is opened on a daily basis, distributed as appropriate, and items are tracked for follow up by appropriate staff.
- Prepare and proof correspondence including letters, memos, documents and reports as required. Produce presentations and maintain various databases, dashboard and reports related to presidential efforts, gathering information from various team members.
- Serve as a mentor to other administrative professionals across leadership structures of the university.
- Oversee department expenses; process vouchers and travel expenses; complete required Missouri Ethics Commission reporting; approve time & labor.
- Conduct research as needed for members of the department’s executive team.
- Perform other related duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate (e.g., weekly time and expense reports, maintain up-to-date paper and electronic files, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) and at least 5 years of professional experience from which comparable knowledge and skills needed for the role can be acquired.

- Demonstrated team leadership skills and experience.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
