Job Description


The Work Week Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the coordination, scheduling, and regulatory compliance of work projects at the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR). This individual provides expert guidance on Reactor Technical Specifications, ensures adherence to nuclear regulations, and serves as the main liaison between Reactor Operations and other facility teams. The Work Week Manager also supports the Work Control group by screening new Work Packages for operational and safety impacts, planning utility and reactor outages, and substituting for the Work Control Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Guidance and Screening:

  • Provide expert review and advising on work projects to ensure alignment with MURR Technical Specifications.
  • Screen new Work Packages to assess potential impacts on reactor operations and reactor safety.


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all activities comply with applicable NRC regulations, including but not limited to 10 CFR 20, 10 CFR 37, 10 CFR 50, and 10 CFR 73.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory standards and incorporate them into the work control process.


Advisory Role:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for reactor-related topics within the Work Control group and associated committees.
  • Advise team members and stakeholders on best practices for maintaining reactor safety and operational efficiency.


Planning and Coordination:

  • Lead the planning of utility and reactor outages, working closely with and directing the Planner Scheduler(s).
  • Schedule and coordinate work projects involving multiple groups to optimize workflow and minimize disruptions.


Communication and Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Reactor Operations and other facility departments to facilitate seamless communication and project execution.


Process Improvement and Support:

  • Collaborate with the Work Control Manager to address emerging issues and refine the Work Control process.
  • Step in as Work Control Manager when necessary, ensuring continuous oversight and management of work activities.

Must be available for reliable and consistent onsite work

Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Additional licensures are necessary as required by regulatory authorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of reactor operations and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of NRC regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent coordination, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management or similar roles within a technical or nuclear environment is highly desirable.

Anticipated Hiring Range


Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
Grade: GGS MKT
