Description
University of Mount Union is seeking applications for a non-tenure track, Assistant Professor of History in the Department of Social Sciences. The candidate would be expected to teach 16 credit hours per semester (typically 4 classes per semester), to begin August 2025.
Responsibilities
The individual will be responsible for teaching history courses, and we welcome applicants with a wide range of expertise. An ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in American history (including colonial and nineteenth century America) and in Europe (including in the Western Civilization sequence and upper-level Europe courses) and other regions of the world. Preference may be given to applicants who can teach Contemporary Europe, Medieval Europe, and Ancient Greece and Rome.
Qualifications
Master's degree in History required. Ph. D. in History in an appropriate field is preferred. Candidates will be expected to have completed their Ph.D. by the time the position is available.
This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
