Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Military-Connected Student Success (AD-MCSS) is a student success position within the Office of Military and Veterans Services and is responsible for supporting the military-connected learners enrolled at UNO. The AD-MCSS reports to the Director of Federal & Military Relations and will collaborate with numerous campus departments and support services to coordinate student success services. Core responsibilities include full student life-cycle support from assisting in the admissions and transfer processes as well as student outreach which focuses on persistence and completion of military-connected learners. Will help assist in developing and implementing programs for military-connected students at UNO. This position is located in the Military-Connected Resource Center.
The AD-MCSS serves as an advocate and resource for military-connected students who seek UNO learning opportunities and related services. Serving as an expert in military-connected student needs, funding sources, and military credit transfer are critical.
An understanding and vision for academic partnerships, student support services, and best practices in the post-traditional student landscape with military-connected communities is essential for success. The AD-MCSS must have strong communication proficiencies, be detail oriented and deadline driven, is comfortable with decision-making, and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
All members of the OMAVS team are expected to participate and contribute to the success of the operations of the unit, provide services to our students, and fostering a supportive and collaborative work culture.
