Essential Functions
The National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) , a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center of Excellence (COE) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha , is seeking a Graduate Assistant or Graduate Student Worker of business operations to support the center operations and research services. The position will work alongside NCITE faculty and staff to develop, scale, and enhance current business processes to support future Center growth and sustainability.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter and be able to collaborate with others. The individual will be very organized and detail-oriented, and as a result, be able to anticipate issues before they arise and come up with solutions to those issues. The individual will also need strong communication skills to coordinate schedules among project personnel and communicate project successes to key stakeholders.
Primary Duties :
- Develop business operations SOPs
- Develop service pricing models
- Refining current HR support infrastructure
- Assisting with strategic planning activities
- Project Management
- Event support as needed
This position could be hired as a Spring 2025 Graduate Assistant or Graduate Student Worker (Hourly) to be decided at time of hire. Non-US persons are available for hire with confirmation self-reporting requirements will be met. No Student or Work Visa will be offered with this position.
Work Schedule
20 hours per week
Additional Duties
Required Qualifications
Must be admitted and enrolled in a UNO graduate degree program. Maintain good academic standing with a minimum of 3.00 GPA within the program, and at least 18 years of age. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and a desire to work with new software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with all levels of people in a professional and courteous manner. Must be able to pass standard background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Upon hiring, must complete DHS security trainings. (All training completed at UNO at no cost to student).
