Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Immersive Learning Supervisor, UNLV University Libraries [R0146274]
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting the Director, Immersive Learning initiatives, the Immersive Learning Supervisor has an essential role in demonstrating Dreamscape Learn experiences while providing operational excellence and delivering exceptional service. They will receive guidance from Dreamscape Learn’s Training & Support team in a “Train the Trainer” format to learn the essential components of managing and operating a Dreamscape Learn experience before its deployment to UNLV’s campus.
As the Immersive Learning Supervisor, the incumbent will coordinate the work efforts of the Dreamscape Learn operation, including managing student employees and delivering Dreamscape Learn guidance to school faculty. They will have access to our online knowledgebase, which will reflect our current platform release.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional technology support to students, staff, and faculty, including troubleshooting, technical assistance, and daily management of immersive learning facilities.
  • Oversee hardware and software used in immersive learning spaces, including testing, evaluation, and recommendations for instructional support.
  • Supervise student employees and manage day-to-day facility operations, ensuring proper maintenance, adherence to usage policies, and alignment with faculty, staff, and student needs.
  • Consult with and assist faculty and staff in utilizing technology for instruction and support the integration of immersive learning into the curriculum to support educational goals.

The Research and Education (RED) Division has seven departments (Library Liaisons Program, Educational Initiatives, Research, Innovation & Creation, Immersive Learning Initiatives, Access Services, and Safety & Loss Prevention, Teacher Development & Resources Library), three branch libraries (Architecture Studies Library, Music Library, and Teacher Development & Resources Library), and has 40 staff members, of which 21 are library academic faculty. RED fosters collaborations that contribute to our users' academic success, research, and lifelong learning. This mission is realized through instruction of learners; partnerships with faculty to create an integrated information literacy-focused curriculum; provision of targeted information resources; expert, point-of need research assistance; and fostering competencies for lifelong inquiry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1 to 3 years of related experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

  • Exhibits working knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking
  • Demonstrates understanding and strong enthusiasm for virtual reality technology, including its applications, implementation and potential for enhancing education and training.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff effectively with a minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience, including hiring, onboarding, training, determining workloads, delegating responsibilities, providing direction, coaching, mentoring, and monitoring while managing daily operations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and facilitate problem resolution effectively.
  • Exhibits effective interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set and manage priorities for self and others in order to complete objectives

SALARY
This is a full-time, 12-month, Administrative Faculty position at a Grade B. Minimum salary is $60,000. Salary is competitive with those at similarly situated institutions and dependent upon labor market.
