The College of Business (CoB) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Management.

Candidates with a graduate degree (master degree or doctorate) and a strong industry background and experiences are sought. Teaching, working with students, and ongoing applied engagement with industry are the focus of this position. At the UNE CoB, teaching professors are full members of the faculty and a vital part of our team.

This is a 9-month position starting in August 2025, with a base salary of $70,000 to $80,000 annually. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in a new College of Business that is growing and offering programs in many areas, with graduate programs, professional programs, and online programs all in our plans.

UNE is a private, non-profit, comprehensive university, with campuses in Portland and Biddeford, Maine and Tangier, Morocco. Responsibilities

The school seeks candidates to teach in the College of Business and our undergraduate programs. Courses are offering in the fall and spring semester on the Biddeford campus. The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester (a 4/4 teaching load). The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for excellence in teaching, involvement with industry, the ability to engage in curriculum development and participate in academic recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and university. As a full-time faculty member, your workload will include service, student support, and thought leadership, as well as teaching.

Qualifications

A master’s degree or a doctorate in business in the area of your teaching or a related field combined with industry experience is required at the time of appointment; preference will be given to candidate with a graduate degree in business (MBA), those with related accreditations (CFA, CPA, etc.), or those with a combination of education and professional experience that provide commensurate qualifications. Professional work experience is highly valued for these positions.
