Duties/Responsibilities
Guest Services & Facility Access (40%)
- Provide excellent customer service and greet all patrons warmly.
- Establish rapport with guests and staff while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of Campus Recreation programs and facilities.
- Explain, interpret, and enforce Campus Recreation policies and procedures.
- Monitor facility access points, ensuring proper guest entry and membership compliance.
- Process member, guest pass, and daily admission access at Outdoor Pool & Mendums Pond.
- Oversee rental and return procedures for boats, stand-up paddleboards, and other recreation equipment.
- Provide information on available activities, site policies, and operating hours.
- Supervise and maintain outdoor recreation areas, including trails, picnic sites, and group reservations.
- Conduct basic trail maintenance to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Operate and oversee concession sales at the Outdoor Pool.
- Handle cash and card transactions for food, beverages, and merchandise.
- Ensure proper inventory management and cleanliness of the concession area.
- Oversee parking procedures and ensure compliance with Mendums Pond access policies.
- Assist with traffic flow and parking organization during peak hours.
- Support overall site safety by monitoring activity and enforcing policies.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of facilities.
- One Year post-secondary education.
- Employment contingent of the successful completion of a background check and the following Campus Recreation provided training:, ‘CPR, AED & First-Aid’, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Risk Management training., Aquatics Risk Management Training, and PCI.
- Strong Supervision and Safety Awareness: Ability to maintain constant vigilance and ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants in waterfront settings.
- Risk Management and Emergency Response Skills: Familiarity with risk management procedures, with the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations, including administering basic first aid.
- Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with participants, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
