**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Registered Nurse, you will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients consistent with clinical specialty.
- Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care.
- Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained.
- Deliver medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards.
Requirements:
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification w/in 6 months
- Basic Arrhythmia Cert w/in 1 year
- Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo or Bilingual English/Spanish
Working Conditions:
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. The position requires heavy lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently. A valid driver's license is not required for this position.
