| Position Summary | The Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology inthe UNM School of Medicine is seeking a professional, detail-orientedAccountant II who possesses strong problem solving and communication skills tointeract with faculty, staff, post docs, graduate students at all levels. The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing unrestricted andrestricted funds to include completing and entering budgets, monitoring andmonthly reconciliation of indexes, preparing and updating monthly projectionreports and other financial reports. Financial transactions such as PCardreconciliations, reimbursements, requisitions and journal vouchers. Processingfinancial transactions such as labor re distributions, journal vouchers,coordination and preparation of regularly scheduled and special billings.Providing guidance and support to faculty and staff in regards to accountingrelated issues and UNM policies and procedures. | Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Proficient in MS Excel to analyze/interpret financial date and prepare financial reports Experience working with UNM financial systems including: Banner, Chrome River, LoboWeb, MyReports Contract and Grant experience Knowledge of University Policies/Procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations Ability to work independently and as a team member |
