The University of New Mexico Gallup is
one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve
approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup NM, approximately 138
miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the Four Corners region
and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and Hopi Reservation. The city of
Gallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an
abundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums and extraordinary
cultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel.
The University of New Mexico has
established branch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide
he highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education
at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and
multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering
communities community education pogroms career education including certificate
and associate degree programs, and transfer program that prepare students for
upper division entry into colleges and universities.
The University of New Mexico Gallup Campus is seeking applicants for the Manager of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Manager reports to the Chancellor, manages the planning, development, marketing and operation of the branch campus Small Business Development Center, which provides local small business development assistance and support in accordance with the stated goals and objectives of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network and the U.S. Small Business Administration, and in adherence to relevant State and Federal legislation, regulations, and guidelines.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Bilingual (Navajo or Zuni or Spanish and English)
- Three (3) years' experience providing economic development strategies to owners of small businesses and to individual considering starting a business
- Previous small business ownership
- Experience with various marketing techniques utilizing current technology
