Position Summary | The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a motivatedprofessional to serve as the Program Specialist to support the smooth operationof day-to-day research operations for one of departments two research units. This individual will oversee the development and executionof the EM research team’s sample acquisition studies and ensure that projectmilestones are met. Additionally, the Program Specialist will superviseresearch coordinators, professional interns, student employees, and volunteersinvolved in human subject research projects. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, the ability to work effectively with a wide range ofpeople including study sponsors, principal investigators, clinical teams, andresearch and administrative staff and clinical staff and patients. Experienceworking in clinical research, familiarity with IRB submissions, maintainingregulatory compliance, and managing confidential information is essential.Strong organizational skills are required to effectively coordinate and manageresearch activities. This position will involve direct patient interaction in theemergency department setting which may include conducting clinical assessments,drawing, processing, and testing blood samples, performing ECGs, and collectingresearch participant vital signs within the scope of the study protocols andtraining. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
