What are the responsibilities and job description for the TPT - Computer Science (FA25-SU26) position at University of New Mexico?
The UNM-Valencia Campus seeks candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000-2000 Level Computer Science (programming) courses. If online teaching is needed, documented accepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico, which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics or a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science.
- Two years of experience teaching or tutoring Computer Science (programming)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college
- Documented training to teach online courses
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities.
