STEAM Studio Sawmill Coordinator and Operator

Posting Details
- Coordinating and scheduling the sawmill
- Keeping records of the number of logs milled, species of tree, where they were from, and how many board feet are produced and distributed
- Safely transporting and operating the sawmill
- Loading logs onto the mill using a compact track loader
- Stacking and organizing lumber
- Building out and operating the kiln
- Supporting the distribution of lumber to community members and organizations for hurricane relief and resiliency projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Proven track record of maintaining job site safety
- Ability to model and enforce safety standards
- Experience operating a sawmill or the ability to learn
- Experience operating a compact track loader or the ability to learn
- Experience safely driving a truck with a 20-foot trailer
- Ability to safely operate a chainsaw to trim logs
- Ability to communicate effectively
- General working knowledge of construction tools and safety
- Ability to use Google Calendar and Sheets
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader Online Operator Training Course completion or equivalent
- OSHA certifications in jobsite safety and equipment operation
