Position Summary
The Emerging Pathogens Lab Tech will use LDMS to electronically label handwritten specimens from Liberia. This involves converting paper box maps into a CSV format, conducting quality control (QC) with a second lab team member, uploading the CSV file into LDMS, printing and labeling the aliquots with a second lab team member. Tracking of work is documented in a dedicated SharePoint site. After specimens have been labeled, PID lists will be created by the study team. The Emerging Pathogens Lab Tech will lead the PDI list pull and QCing prior to shipment to various labs. They will work with student workers, lab techs, and supervisors to coordinate work and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

Lab tech experience, student lab work experience is acceptable.
Must be trained in LDMS.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Standing for periods of about an hour at a time. Lifting box racks in and out of freezers that weigh approximately 20 lbs. All duties to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
