Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
UNC Greensboro supports students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Education (CTPE) program while enrolled in Integrative Community Studies, a four-year certificate that emphasizes self-determination, life planning, and career development. Students completing requirements for graduation receive a certificate in Integrative Community Studies, awarded by the Office of the Provost at UNCG. The CTPE Office provides academic coursework and instruction; coordination and support with academic and student affairs units across campus; and direct 1 : 1 academic and student life support.
Position Summary
This position will be 1 : 1 (peer to peer) student support for 15 hours per week with 5 hours per week of administrative support and / or planning / scheduling. This position works directly with students (with intellectual disabilities) enrolled in the Integrative Community Studies (ICS) / Beyond Academics Certificate program. Examples of support provided may include (but are not limited to) academic support, social skills support, and / or living skills support.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in progress in a related field (social / human services, education, etc.)
