Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. Position Summary | The Program Manager for PharmD Curriculum and Assessment will support the PharmD Program at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy through strategic development, implementation, and oversight of: 1) advancing PharmD curricular assessment initiatives, 2) a new PharmD program communication strategy, and 3) managing PharmD curricular program support. These duties aim to enhance the overall educational experience for PharmD students and educators, embracing sustainable continuous quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. The Program Manager will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the assessment of student learning plan in the PharmD curriculum as well as creating a new PharmD communication strategy. The Program Manager will also oversee PharmD curricular initiatives, such as didactic accommodations proctoring, curricular subcommittees, and PharmD program meetings. The Program Manager will also support the faculty advising program, working closely with the Office of Student Affairs and Professional Program Leadership Team to strategically align faculty advising with other existing advising programs in these units. The Program Manager role involves strategic program development and oversight, while also collaborating effectively with constituents to manage various initiatives in dynamic academic program environment. The Program Manager for PharmD Curriculum and Assessment will develop, direct ,and administer services that have a direct impact on the educational experience for students and educators in the PharmD program. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | * A relevant bachelor's degree in education, education administration, curriculum and instruction, health sciences, or a related field. * Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | * Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field. * At least three years of experience in program coordination, academic administration, or a related field, preferably within higher education or healthcare settings. * Experience in education (work in pharmacy education or health professions education setting is a plus). * Familiarity with curricular design and assessment in higher education, along with accreditation standards. * Demonstration of professional independence, innovation, critical thinking/judgement skills, communication, teamwork and collaboration, strong time management, and responsibility. * Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards, as well as personal and professional integrity in the ability to collaborate and foster a spirit of engagement. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Demonstration of adaptability and flexibility in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. * Ability to manage a diversity of tasks while remaining personable and enthusiastic. * Ability to utilize technology in managing projects and the delivery of programs. * Ability to establish rapport and relate well to students, faculty, and staff. * Ability to effectively create and deliver presentations and workshops to large audiences. |
