Position Summary
The S/C Research Assistant will support a multi-center observational study that seeks to understand breast cancer incidence among high-risk women. The responsibilities of this position will be primarily related to clinical data collection from existing records. This will include searching medical records and data exports for information, entering data into an electronic form (REDCap), and checking records for completeness and accuracy. Detailed documentation of procedures, through progress notes and decision logs, is required. Successful data collection will require coordination with other UNC team members and researchers at non-UNC study sites, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are desired. The responsibilities may change over time as the research progresses.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Familiarity with clinical research (including terminology related to breast cancer, cancer screening, pathology, and/or radiology), MS Office tools, human subjects research.
Attention to detail, self-directed, communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Familiarity with REDCap, Epic, basic data analysis.
