Brief Summary of Work for this Position
Experienced in health and fitness as a professional who supports and promotes health and fitness in a variety of ways. For example, this position may design and lead group fitness classes to the UNCW community, program special events, and may supervise and train our group fitness instructors. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Supervisory or related transferable skills
Ability to delegate tasks as appropriate Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Experience working in collegiate recreation
Student personnel supervision at the collegiate level
2 years working with group fitness or related experiences (if applicable)
American Red Cross Instructor training for First Aid, CPR / AED, Blood borne Pathogen Required Certifications or Licensure Health Education Cert (CHES) and / or Group Fitness Instructor Certification (ACE, ACSM, AFFA), Personal Training (ACE, ACSM, NASM) (may be acquired after hire if position requires these certs) Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
