Department Summary | The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Criminal Justice Adjunct Instructor. The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received. |
Position Summary | Adjunct instructors plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/leaming objectives and student learning outcomes. An adjunct instructor undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Criminal Justice courses within UNT Dallas's Criminal Justice major, including core-curriculum Criminal Justice courses (2100-Crime and Justice in the United States, 2600-Diversity Issues in Criminal Justice, 2300-Crimianl Law, 2302-Police Systems, 2301-Correctional Systems, 3600-Criminology and 3700-Ethical Issues in Criminal Justice), and there may be an opportunity to teach other courses. Adjunct faculty members will be required to use texts and meet certain content parameters set by the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology. Adjunct instructors also will be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria. Minimum Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in Criminal Justice, or in an equivalent discipline, with at least 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice and outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum Criminal Justice courses. |
