Position Overview
The Operations Analyst works directly with the College Fiscal Officer at the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (CBTS) Dean's Office, focusing specifically on supporting the financial operations of the P&N department. This role is critical for managing grants related budget and ensuring compliance with university and external funding agency guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of university operating procedures and policies, with the ability to rapidly assimilate and retain complex fiscal management information.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power BI) and experience with financial data analytics systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a strong orientation toward supporting campus stakeholders.
- Ability to manage stress and multitask effectively, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.

Job Duties:
- Collaborate with CBTS dean’s office leadership team on department-level annual budget planning and execution.
- Develop and present detailed budget reports to assist department chair in decision-making and financial planning.
- Execute department-level budgetary and personnel transactions with high accuracy and compliance.
- Interact with the Department Research Administrator from the HSC Office of Sponsored Projects to perform budget analysis focusing on grants from NIH and other entities.
- Support faculty, staff, and students from the relevant department by providing timely and accurate financial information and guidance.
- Manage procurement of controlled assets and leased equipment, ensuring adherence to State, System, and institutional procurement guidelines.
- Prepare and reconcile department-level budget reports and resolve fund balance deficits through effective troubleshooting and coordination with relevant departments.
- Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all actions.
