Position Overview

Reporting to the Director for Alumni Engagement & Outreach, this position will be responsible for growing engagement of students and early alumni with the Alumni Association and encouraging lifelong connection to their Alma Mater. This role will oversee the Student Alumni Association, manage the Class Ring Program, and implement an Early/Young Alumni Network.

This position will focus on growing engagement through the four modes of engagement with our early alumni and alumni community: experiential, communication, volunteerism, and philanthropy towards the institution. This role will manage relationships between UNT campus departments and seek ways to engage students and alumni with the Alumni Association. This position proactively supports the mission of and serves as an ambassador for University Advancement, the UNT Alumni Association, and the University of North Texas.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and four years of professional experience in alumni relations, engagement, donor relations, public relations, or sales; with at least one year in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The ideal candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with student programs and organizations.
  • Experience with admissions, athletics, career services, and student affairs recruitment.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the Student Alumni Association (SAA) and advise the SAA Ambassador leadership group. Manage a strategic plan for growing membership in SAA and engaging current students with the UNT Alumni Association before graduation.
  • Lead efforts on Early Alumni engagement programming.
  • Manage all programs related to Student Engagement with Alumni Relations/the UNT Alumni Association, including but not limited to, the Ring Ceremony, Legacy Luncheon, Dinner with a Dozen, Farewell Toast, Commencement activities, and more.
  • Lead the Class Ring Program including promoting ring sales and event planning, manage the relationship between Jostens and the University of North Texas, and develop a strategic plan for growing ring sales.
  • Collaborate with UNT Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Career Center, Orientation & Transition Programs, and other areas as needed, to manage all related partnerships between the Alumni Association and student engagement.
  • Lead the Graduating Class Gift program, responsible for setting individual fundraising goals and growing philanthropy amongst the student body.
  • Monitors and manages program budget, in accordance with Alumni Association and University guidelines. As well as other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; some evenings and weekends required.
