Position Summary :
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking an Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Tenure Track). Candidates in all areas of Chemistry and Biochemistry will be considered, but preference will be given to those specializing in Biochemistry.
Job Duties :
This position is a full-time, tenure track, nine-month appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Natural and Health Sciences. Responsibilities include instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate's specialization, and other courses within the department as needed (60%). The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong externally funded research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students (20%), and will provide strong service to the department, college, university, and profession (20%).
Minimum Qualifications :
This position requires a doctorate in Chemistry (or closely related field).
Preferred Qualifications :
Candidates in all areas of Chemistry and Biochemistry will be considered, but preference will be given to those specializing in Biochemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience and with research interests that complement existing research in the Department. The ability or potential to mentor and support students from diverse backgrounds is also preferred.
