About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Systems Mechanic I/II/III-Operations to join our facilities management team at the University of Northern Iowa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our campus buildings by performing routine maintenance and repairs on environmental systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled work in the area of installation, repair, alteration, replacement, and maintenance of environmental systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend system optimization changes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Four years of experience in refrigeration, heating, or air conditioning work (ESM I), six years in temperature and computerized building environmental automation systems (ESM II), or eight years in computerized building environmental automation systems (ESM III).
- Demonstrated expertise in computerized building environmental automation systems and ability to utilize software applications to collect and analyze data.
- A valid driver's license and ability to meet the University's Fleet Safety Program requirements.
