Description
Academic leader and manager charged with overseeing the strategic priorities of the Colleges of Business, Health Professions, & Occupational Professions and the Graduate College. The Dean is responsible for daily operations, overall academic program quality, assessment of curriculum and instruction, budgeting and fiscal management, appropriate personnel and institutional policies, and instructor professional growth.
Provides leadership and vision in support of the University’s mission.
Collaborates with other administrators and staff to coordinate programs and services, meet student needs, and resolve conflicts and issues within the area and among departments
Represents the College at public functions and/or in the community to build and expand partnerships
Assists in strategic planning, strategy formulation, and strategy implementation, establishing and launching the College mission, vision, and identity
Develops long- and short-term goals for the College
Develops the Colleges’ academic programs
Assists in formulating, administering, and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures
Supports and participates in accreditation, institutional assessment, and academic program review
Works with the faculty to ensure program content is in line with the University’s mission, Institutional Learning Outcomes, and Program Goals and Objectives
Resolves staff and student complaints
Monitors and supports student retention and outcome data and collaborate with relevant offices to support student success
Directs and oversees college operations, including budget planning, management, and analysis
Leads supporting College initiatives and provides recognition of achievement and promotion
Conducts interviews for employment, supervises, annually evaluates, encourages professional development, and assists faculty in carrying out their responsibilities
Reviews course evaluations each term
Provides curricular oversight to ensure compliance with University requirements
Plans, organizes, develops, reviews, and evaluates the programs, activities, and/or curriculum of assigned programs and/or services
Communicates with faculty, administrators, and staff by holding regular meetings to facilitate planning and collegial decision-making
Determines course offerings and make recommendations for course staffing and faculty load for each quarter
Serves on institutional committees as appropriate
Serves as the advisor to life experiential portfolio development participants
Requirements
MA, M.Ed., MBA or doctorate
Effective interpersonal skills
Five years in a collegiate environment
