The Department of Development is charged with unlocking the grace of giving for alumni, parents, and friends to advance the sacred mission of Notre Dame. The Stewardship & Donor Relations team within Development partners closely with fundraisers to steward and cultivate donors to increase philanthropy. The responsibility of stewardship is shared throughout the University, and strong partnerships are fostered across the academy and in key areas such as Student Life and Athletics that help to educate the whole student — the mind, the body, and the heart.
The Assistant Director is responsible for project management of impact reporting, leadership acknowledgments, communications, recognition, and stewardship events in the Division of Student Affairs and Department of Athletics. Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Athletics Advancement Team and the Academic Advancement Director for Student Affairs to create and manage stewardship plans for principal benefactors and consult on strategic stewardship requests
- Lead impact reporting and spending review for Athletics and Student Affairs funds
- Execute a variety of assigned programmatic and individualized stewardship touches for University benefactors
- Create and implement personalized best-in-class stewardship plans and engagement opportunities for top donors
- Assist with projects to further advance stewardship across the University, including financial aid stewardship initiatives as assigned, working closely with the Program Director for Financial Aid Stewardship

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Project management skills: ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with diverse constituencies in appropriate, positive ways and to handle sensitive/confidential information properly
- Demonstrated attention to detail and willingness to be a strategic partner
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other standard office applications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Alignment with the mission and values of the University
- Understanding or willingness to learn about student life and collegiate athletics
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite or skills in graphic design and/or videography
- Event management and execution experience
- Experience in nonprofit, academic, or development fields
- Aptitude and/or education in working with financial data is very helpful for this position
