What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Researcher in Democracy (AC) position at University of Notre Dame?
The Kellogg Institute for International Studies, part of the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher as part of the university’s Democracy Initiative. Individuals selected for the postdoctoral position will have the option of renewing their appointment for a second year, conditional on satisfactory performance. A successful postdoctoral candidate will have a Ph.D. in Political Science, strong quantitative methodological skills, and a comparative research agenda preferably addressing questions of democracy, public opinion, political behavior, and attitudinal change. In addition to carrying out independent research, the hire will be part of the research team of the Notre Dame Violence against Women (E-VAW) Lab and contribute to projects examining the effects of democratic backsliding on public opinion through the lens of gender as well as other related lab projects.
The individual selected for this position can expect to devote approximately 50% of their time to activities related to research assistantship with co-authorship opportunities and collaborations with the Kellogg Institute, and 50% of their time to independent research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend and present at the Kellogg Work In Progress Seminars, will have dedicated office space, and will be part of a cohort of visiting fellows and guest researchers. In addition, the position includes $5,000 per year in research funds.
