UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Attendant to join our team. This part-time position involves working on the patient tray line, washing dishes, and stocking throughout the hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals. This role requires adherence to food handling techniques and food safety procedures, along with demonstrating excellent customer service skills consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure necessary food and service equipment/utensils for assigned area prior to meal service.
- Adhere to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
- Inventory and stock bulk supplies, following established procedures and designated timeframes.
- Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script, ensuring proper patient identification.
- Bus and sanitize tables and chairs.
- Deliver meals to residents' rooms upon request.
- Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
- Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient/guest specific requirements.
- Maintain food safety and quality
- Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
- Perform sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
