Definition Of Classification
The position of Licensed Clinical Therapist provides culturally responsive in-person mental health services and outreach to students. The Clinical therapist provides individual short-term therapy and group therapy as well as prevention and coping skills workshops for students. This position keeps accurate, timely records that comply with all state laws and ethical guidelines. In addition, this position provides supervision and training to practicum students. The position reports directly to the Director of the Counseling Center at the University of Redlands campus and has a dotted line reporting to the Associate Dean of Students.

Incumbents regularly sit for long periods; walk short distances on a regular basis; may travel to various locations to attend meetings and conduct work; use hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel or crouch to file; climb stairs; speak clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and to provide information; see to read fine print and operate computer; hear and understand voices over telephone and in person; and lift, carry and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

This range considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is defined as the Hiring Range. Placement within the Hiring Range is determined by internal equity, and relevant qualifications.
BACKGROUND CHECK: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primary Responsibilities
- Assess the mental health needs of students through diagnostic evaluations, clinical observation and other clinically indicated means.
- Provides evidence-based individual and group interventions designed to assist a diverse student population with a wide range of presenting concerns.
- Provides treatment services in a sensitive and competent manner to diverse populations (eg. ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, etc.).
- Assess level of risk and provides appropriate and timely crisis intervention to at-risk students. When clinically indicated, assists and coordinates higher level of care utilizing community mental health resources.
- Provides supervision and training to practicum students on a weekly basis that follows the legal and ethical guidelines of the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Provides trainings on mental health issues to the campus community.
- Serves as Woodbury representative to TimelyCare, a telehealth platform available to all students.
- Participate on CARE Team to help coordinate a support plan for students of concern.
- Collaborates with the University of Redlands Counseling Center staff and other constituents to develop, establish, and deliver processes and programs that seek to promote, educate and instill cultural equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Acts as a consultant to promote diversity and inclusion particularly for issues and concerns regarding marginalized and neurodivergent students and their unique challenges.
- Works collaboratively with other offices on campus to develop and provide a network of supportive services for students.
- Consults with and/or facilitates timely and appropriate referrals to other professional staff, as well as to other departments as appropriate.
- Attends trainings and team meetings with Counseling Center staff.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Experience/Training/Education
Required
- Two years post licensure in the state of California as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist, LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
- Experience working with BIPOC, diverse economic classes, first generation individuals, LGBTQ , neurodivergent, and international adults.
- Experience working with students in a university counseling setting.
- Group therapy experience.
- Experience as a clinical supervisor for practicum students.
- Communicate effectively and follow instructions, both verbally and in writing.
- Aptitude to learn new and evolving technology and recommend ways to improve position’s efficiency.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to recommend appropriate courses of action within established guidelines.
- Ability to foster strong, positive relationships and align both internal and external resources to achieve university objectives.
- Ability to exercise discretion and work with confidentiality.
- Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
