Join our Innovative Research Team: Embark on an exciting journey in translational research by becoming a vital member of our dynamic laboratory team. As a Laboratory Technician III, you will work under the direct supervision of the PI and/or Senior Researchers, contributing to groundbreaking studies on the molecular mechanisms of experimental arthritis, skin fibrosis, vascular dysfunction, and rheumatoid arthritis/scleroderma pathogenesis.
Your Responsibilities:
- Histology Expertise: Conduct experiments involving immunohistochemistry, immunostaining, imaging, and tissue histology studies. Utilize cutting-edge laboratory equipment and contribute to manuscript preparation and writing by organizing acquired images.
- Flow Cytometry Mastery: Plan and execute sample collection, preparation, and flow cytometry following established protocols. Analyze data and organize images for manuscript and grant purposes, showcasing your skills in data-driven research.
- Genotyping Excellence: Perform genotyping of animal colonies using techniques such as tissue digestion, PCR, gel electrophoresis, cryo-embedding of tissue samples, and fluorescence imaging of histology slides. Communicate results to the PI or Senior Researcher and assist in managing the animal colony.
- In Vitro Collaboration: Support cell culture activities by performing tasks such as changing media, passaging cells, and monitoring equipment operation. Report any issues to the Senior Researcher promptly.
- Lab Maintenance and Equipment Expertise: Keep track of lab supplies, ensuring lab upkeep, autoclaving items as necessary. Oversee compliance with safety regulations and train individuals in the use and maintenance of various laboratory equipment.
Must Have:
Associate's degree in a relevant discipline, plus 2 to 3 years of specialized experience in the field; or equivalent education and experience.
Nice to Have:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Previous experience with animal work, histology, flow cytometry, and/or biochemistry.
