Our Outpatient Pharmacy at Strong Memorial Hospital provides medications and other services to patients who live in the Greater Rochester Area and beyond. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the Outpatient Pharmacy Staff prides itself on teamwork, comradery, and being able to provide the highest level of service to our patients.

What Does a Pharmacy Technician Do?

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be an integral member of our team involved in several areas of our workflows. You will be responsible for a number of different tasks and responsibilities depending on your work location. These tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

· Dispensing prescriptions to patients in our patient facing areas.

· Triaging phone calls and helping to answer patient questions.

· Data entry of prescription orders into our pharmacy’s operating system.

· Filling prescription orders.

· Managing inventory.

· Preparation of medication orders for offsite delivery to patients.

Pharmacy Technician Requirements:

· Technician-in-Training: A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

· Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application

· Please note that Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is required within 12 months of starting the position if not already certified.

Experience:

· Previous work experience in healthcare or another fast-paced environment (Preferred)
