What You'll Do

🔹 Provide leadership and strategic direction for LLE’s HPC Group.

🔹 Manage state-of-the-art systems like Conesus (powered by 4th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum) and Deluge, supporting groundbreaking simulations and research.

🔹 Oversee R&D initiatives in HPC system software, data analytics, and storage solutions.

🔹 Build and maintain strong cross-organizational relationships, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.

🔹 Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration.

What We're Looking For

Leadership:

✔ Proven ability to lead cross-functional R&D teams in delivering cutting-edge solutions.

✔ Skilled at aligning stakeholder goals and inspiring teams to achieve excellence.

Technical Excellence:

✔ Expertise in large-scale HPC environments, including system administration, cyber security, workload scheduling, and parallel storage systems.

✔ Experience with NIST compliance (SP 800-171/SP 800-53) and HPC programming tools.

Business Management:

✔ Demonstrated success managing budgets, staffing, and performance standards.

✔ Strategic thinker with a knack for creative problem-solving and decision-making.

Qualifications:

🎓 Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Advanced knowledge of governmental policies is a plus! Must be able to relocate to the Rochester, NY area.
